Alu Paratha
Alu Paratha is a popular Indian recipe where the flatbread is stuffed with a spicy potato filling. It's a perfect breakfast or lunch dish.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Oil or ghee - For frying
- Water - As required for dough
- Salt - To taste
- Garam masala - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander leaves - Handful, chopped
- Green chillies - 2, finely chopped
- Wheat flour - 2 cups
- Potatoes - 2 large, boiled and mashed
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, mix the mashed potatoes, green chillies, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, garam masala, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix the wheat flour and salt. Add water gradually and knead to make a soft dough.
- Divide the dough and the potato mixture into equal portions.
- Roll out one portion of the dough into a small circle. Place a portion of the potato mixture in the center. Bring together all the sides and seal tightly.
- Roll out again into a larger circle, using a little flour for dusting.
- Heat a pan and cook the paratha using oil or ghee until golden brown on both sides.
- Serve hot with yogurt or pickle.
