Aloo Tikki
Aloo Tikki is a popular Indian street food made with mashed potatoes and spices, served with chutney.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Oil - For frying
- Salt - To taste
- Red chili powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Coriander powder - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1 teaspoon
- Coriander leaves - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Green chili - 1, finely chopped
- Onion - 1 small, finely chopped
- Green peas - 1/4 cup, boiled
- Bread crumbs - 1/2 cup
- Potatoes - 4 medium, boiled and mashed
Let's Get Started
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, bread crumbs, boiled green peas, chopped onion, green chili, grated ginger, coriander leaves, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Divide the mixture into equal-sized portions and shape them into round patties.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry the patties until golden brown and crispy on both sides.
- Remove the patties from the pan and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
- Serve hot with chutney of your choice.
