Let's Get Started

  1. Rinse the aburaage under hot water to remove excess oil. Cut them in half and open them up to make pouches.
  2. In a small saucepan, combine the soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and water. Bring to a simmer.
  3. Add the aburaage to the saucepan and simmer for 5 minutes, turning occasionally.
  4. Remove the aburaage from the saucepan and let them cool.
  5. Stuff the aburaage pouches with the cooked rice and garnish with the chopped green onions.
