Æggekage
Æggekage is a traditional Danish dish similar to an omelette or a frittata. It is made with eggs, milk, and various toppings.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Chives - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
- Bacon - 4 slices, cooked and crumbled
- Onion - 1, thinly sliced
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Milk - 1/4 cup
- Eggs - 6
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
- Heat butter in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Pour the egg mixture into the skillet and cook for 5 minutes, or until the edges are set.
- Sprinkle the crumbled bacon, grated cheese, and chopped chives over the top of the egg mixture.
- Cover the skillet and cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the eggs are fully cooked.
- Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
- Cut into wedges and serve warm.
