Yomari
Yomari is a traditional Nepali sweet dumpling made with rice flour and filled with a sweet mixture of molasses and sesame seeds.
Ingredients - Serves 8
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Ghee (clarified butter) - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame seeds - 1/4 cup
- Molasses - 1/2 cup
- Water - 1 cup
- Rice flour - 2 cups

- In a mixing bowl, combine the rice flour, water, and salt. Knead the mixture until it forms a smooth dough.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the molasses, sesame seeds, ghee, and cardamom powder to make the filling.
- Divide the dough into small portions and shape each portion into a small cup-like shape.
- Fill each dough cup with the molasses and sesame seed filling.
- Seal the dough by pinching the edges together, ensuring the filling is completely enclosed.
- Steam the yomari in a steamer for about 20-25 minutes, or until the dough is cooked and becomes translucent.
- Remove the yomari from the steamer and let them cool slightly before serving.
- Serve the yomari warm and enjoy!
