Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Drain the soaked chana dal and keep a handful of it aside.
  2. Grind the rest of the chana dal with fennel seeds and green chillies into a coarse mixture without adding water.
  3. In a bowl, mix the ground mixture, the chana dal kept aside, chopped onions, vazhaipoo, curry leaves, and salt.
  4. Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.
  5. Make small balls of the mixture, flatten them and drop them in the hot oil.
  6. Fry the vadas until they turn golden brown.
  7. Drain the vadas on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  8. Serve hot with coconut chutney or ketchup.
