  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, 1/2 cup cornstarch, cream of tartar and 4 cups of water. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves and mixture boils.
  2. Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for an hour, stirring frequently.
  3. Add rosewater and food coloring, stir well.
  4. Pour mixture into a 9-inch pan lined with a mixture of powdered sugar and cornstarch, ensuring all sides are coated.
  5. Let it cool in the refrigerator overnight.
  6. The next day, cut the Turkish Delight into squares and coat each piece in the powdered sugar and cornstarch mixture to prevent sticking.
