Tsagaan Sholmor
Tsagaan Sholmor is a traditional Mongolian dish made with lamb, vegetables, and noodles.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
- Egg noodles - 200 grams
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Cabbage - 1/2 small head, shredded
- Potatoes - 2 medium, diced
- Carrots - 2 medium, julienned
- Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
- Lamb - 500 grams, thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat.
- Add the lamb slices and cook until browned. Remove from the pot and set aside.
- In the same pot, add the sliced onion, julienned carrots, diced potatoes, shredded cabbage, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Cook until the vegetables are slightly softened.
- Return the lamb to the pot and add soy sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
- Pour enough water into the pot to cover the ingredients. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Once the soup is ready, serve it hot over a bed of cooked egg noodles.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and cilantro before serving.
