Tortilla Espanola
Tortilla Española, also known as Spanish omelette, is a classic Spanish dish made with eggs, potatoes, and onions.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Eggs - 6
- Olive oil - 1/4 cup
- Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
- Potatoes - 4 medium, peeled and thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced potatoes and onions to the skillet and cook until the potatoes are tender and lightly browned, about 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs with salt and pepper.
- Transfer the cooked potatoes and onions to the bowl with the beaten eggs. Mix well to combine.
- Heat a little more olive oil in the skillet over medium heat.
- Pour the egg, potato, and onion mixture into the skillet and spread it evenly.
- Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the bottom is set and golden brown.
- Using a large plate or a lid, carefully flip the tortilla to cook the other side. Cook for another 5-7 minutes.
- Slide the cooked tortilla onto a serving plate and let it cool slightly before slicing.
- Serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!
