Tornado Potato
A fun and delicious twist on the classic potato. Spiral-cut potatoes are skewered and deep-fried to a crispy golden brown.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Parmesan cheese - 1/2 cup, grated
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - To taste
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Wooden skewers - 4
- Potatoes - 4 large
Let's Get Started
- Wash and peel the potatoes.
- Cut one end of each potato to make a flat surface, then push a skewer through the center.
- Using a sharp knife, make a spiral cut all the way down the potato.
- Gently fan out the potato down the skewer, until you have an even gap between the slices.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F.
- Fry the potatoes until golden brown, about 5 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels and sprinkle with salt, paprika, and grated Parmesan while still hot.
