Let's Get Started

  1. Wash and peel the potatoes.
  2. Using a spiral cutter, cut the potatoes into a spiral shape.
  3. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).
  4. Carefully lower the potatoes into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5 minutes.
  5. Remove the potatoes from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  6. Sprinkle the potatoes with salt, chili powder, and Parmesan cheese while they are still hot.
  7. Serve the Hweori Gamja immediately, on skewers if desired.
