Tomato Bread
A delicious and easy to make bread that's perfect for breakfast or as a side dish.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Warm water - 1 cup
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Yeast - 1 packet
- Bread flour - 3 cups
- Tomatoes - 2 large, diced
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, yeast, salt, and sugar.
- Add the diced tomatoes, olive oil, and warm water. Stir until the dough begins to come together.
- Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it on a baking sheet and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake the bread for about 45 minutes, or until it's golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Let the bread cool before slicing and serving.
