Lombard Loukoumades

Ingredients - Serves 6
- Cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- Honey - 1/2 cup
- Olive oil - For frying
- Warm milk - 1/2 cup
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Flour - 2 cups
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Warm water - 1 cup
- Yeast - 1 packet
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm water. Add the sugar and let stand for 5 minutes.
- Add the flour, salt, and warm milk to the yeast mixture. Stir until a sticky dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with a towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
- Heat the olive oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 375°F.
- Drop spoonfuls of the dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.
- Drain the loukoumades on paper towels.
- Drizzle the loukoumades with honey and sprinkle with cinnamon before serving.
