Tom Yum Goong
Tom Yum Goong is a classic Thai soup known for its distinct hot and sour flavors, fragrant spices and herbs.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Cilantro - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Mushrooms - 1 cup, sliced
- Shrimp - 1 pound, peeled and deveined
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Lime juice - 3 tablespoons
- Fish sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Thai bird chilies - 5
- Galangal - 1 inch piece, sliced
- Kaffir lime leaves - 4
- Lemongrass - 2 stalks, smashed
- Water - 4 cups
Let's Get Started
- In a pot, bring water to a boil.
- Add lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, galangal, and chilies. Boil for 10 minutes.
- Add fish sauce, lime juice, and sugar. Stir well.
- Add shrimp and mushrooms. Cook until shrimp turns pink.
- Turn off the heat and add cilantro.
- Serve hot.
