  2. Gradually add water while stirring until a smooth batter is formed.
  3. Add a few drops of red food coloring to the batter and mix well.
  4. Heat cooking oil in a deep pan or pot over medium heat.
  5. Dip each hard-boiled egg into the batter, making sure it is fully coated.
  6. Carefully place the coated eggs into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove the tokneneng from the oil and drain on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
  8. Serve hot with vinegar dipping sauce seasoned with salt and pepper.
