Tiramisu Macarons
These Tiramisu Macarons are a delightful twist on the classic Italian dessert. They are light, airy, and filled with a delicious coffee-infused cream.
Ingredients - Serves 24
- Cocoa powder - For dusting
- Instant coffee granules - 1 tablespoon
- Heavy cream - 1/2 cup
- Mascarpone cheese - 1/2 cup
- Cream of tartar - 1/4 teaspoon
- Granulated sugar - 1/4 cup
- Egg whites - 3 large
- Powdered sugar - 1 3/4 cups
- Almond flour - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 300°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a food processor, combine the almond flour and powdered sugar and process until fine.
- In a large bowl, beat the egg whites until foamy. Add the granulated sugar and cream of tartar and continue to beat until stiff peaks form.
- Gently fold in the almond flour mixture until the batter is smooth and shiny.
- Transfer the batter to a piping bag and pipe onto the prepared baking sheets. Let sit for 30 minutes to form a skin.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until the macarons are set. Let cool completely.
- In a small bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, heavy cream, and coffee granules. Beat until smooth.
- Pipe the filling onto half of the macarons and top with the remaining macarons.
- Dust with cocoa powder before serving.
