Tiramisu Classic
This classic Italian dessert features layers of ladyfinger biscuits soaked in coffee and a rich mascarpone cream, dusted with cocoa powder.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Cocoa powder - For dusting
- Ladyfinger biscuits - 24
- Espresso or strong coffee - 1 cup, cooled
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Heavy cream - 1 1/4 cups
- Mascarpone cheese - 2/3 cup
- Sugar - 3/4 cup
- Egg yolks - 6
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, beat the egg yolks and sugar until creamy and light in color.
- Add the mascarpone cheese and beat until smooth.
- In another bowl, beat the heavy cream and vanilla until soft peaks form.
- Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone and egg yolk mixture.
- Dip each ladyfinger into the coffee and arrange in a single layer at the bottom of a serving dish.
- Spread half of the mascarpone cream over the ladyfingers.
- Repeat with another layer of coffee-dipped ladyfingers and mascarpone cream.
- Dust the top layer with the cocoa powder.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
