Tandoori Chicken Tikka
Tandoori Chicken Tikka is a popular Indian dish made with marinated chicken pieces cooked in a tandoor or oven.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Fresh coriander - For garnish
- Lemon wedges - For garnish
- Bell peppers - 1, sliced
- Onion - 1, sliced
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - To taste
- Coriander powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Cumin powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Red chili powder - 1 teaspoon
- Tandoori masala - 2 tablespoons
- Ginger-garlic paste - 2 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
- Yogurt - 1/2 cup
- Chicken breast - 500 grams, boneless and skinless
Let's Get Started
- In a bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, tandoori masala, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, and salt to make the marinade.
- Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and add them to the marinade. Mix well to coat the chicken evenly. Marinate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto skewers, alternating with sliced onions and bell peppers.
- Brush a baking sheet with vegetable oil and place the skewers on it.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and slightly charred.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with lemon wedges.
