Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and then add milk and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Preheat a taiyaki pan or a fish-shaped waffle iron.
  5. Grease the pan with cooking spray or melted butter.
  6. Pour a small amount of batter into each fish-shaped mold, filling it about halfway.
  7. Add a spoonful of red bean paste in the center of each mold.
  8. Cover the red bean paste with more batter, filling the mold completely.
  9. Close the taiyaki pan or waffle iron and cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Carefully remove the taiyaki from the pan and let them cool on a wire rack.
  11. Repeat the process with the remaining batter and red bean paste.
  12. Serve the taiyaki warm and enjoy!
