Ingredients - Serves 4
- Green onions - 2, sliced
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Vinegar - 1/4 cup
- Soy sauce - 1/4 cup
- Ginger - 1 inch piece, minced
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Cornstarch - 1/2 cup
- Pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Mandarin fish - 1 whole, about 1.5 pounds
Let's Get Started
- Clean the fish and pat dry. Season with salt and pepper.
- Dust the fish with cornstarch.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the fish until golden brown on both sides. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté the garlic and ginger until fragrant.
- Add the soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil.
- Return the fish to the pan and simmer in the sauce for 10 minutes, turning once.
