Spinach and Gouda Gratin
This creamy and cheesy spinach and Gouda gratin is a delicious side dish that pairs well with any main course.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Butter - 2 tablespoons, melted
- Breadcrumbs - 1/2 cup
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Heavy cream - 1 cup
- Gouda cheese - 8 ounces, grated
- Spinach - 1 pound, fresh

- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Wash the spinach thoroughly and remove any tough stems.
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil and blanch the spinach for 1-2 minutes. Drain and squeeze out any excess water.
- In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
- Add the minced garlic, salt, and pepper to the cream and stir well.
- Add the blanched spinach to the cream mixture and stir until well combined.
- Transfer the spinach mixture to a greased baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- Sprinkle the grated Gouda cheese over the top of the spinach.
- In a small bowl, mix together the breadcrumbs and melted butter.
- Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
