Spanish Tortilla Espanola
A traditional Spanish dish made with potatoes, onions, and eggs, the Spanish Tortilla Española is a delicious and hearty omelette-like dish.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Eggs - 6 large
- Olive oil - 1/4 cup
- Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
- Potatoes - 4 medium, peeled and thinly sliced
Let's Get Started
- Heat olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced potatoes and onions to the skillet and cook until the potatoes are tender and lightly browned, about 15-20 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs and season with salt and pepper.
- Transfer the cooked potatoes and onions to the bowl with the beaten eggs. Mix well to combine.
- Heat a little more olive oil in the same skillet over medium heat.
- Pour the potato and egg mixture into the skillet, spreading it evenly.
- Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until the bottom is set and golden brown.
- Using a large plate or a lid, carefully flip the tortilla to cook the other side. Cook for another 5-7 minutes, or until the tortilla is fully cooked and golden brown.
- Remove from heat and let the tortilla cool slightly before slicing into wedges.
- Serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy!
