Sourdough Pancakes
These fluffy and tangy sourdough pancakes are a delicious twist on traditional pancakes.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Butter - 2 tablespoons, melted
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Baking soda - 1/2 teaspoon
- Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Egg - 1
- Milk - 1 cup
- All-purpose flour - 1 cup
- Sourdough starter - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- In a large bowl, combine the sourdough starter, flour, milk, egg, sugar, baking soda, and salt. Mix until well combined.
- Let the batter sit at room temperature for 30 minutes to allow the sourdough to ferment and develop flavor.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and brush with melted butter.
- Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
- Cook until bubbles form on the surface of the pancake, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more melted butter to the skillet as needed.
- Serve the sourdough pancakes warm with your favorite toppings, such as maple syrup, fresh berries, or whipped cream.
