  6. Return the egg mixture to the saucepan and cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil.
  7. Remove from the heat and stir in the butter and vanilla extract.
  8. Pour the custard into the baked tart shells and let cool.
  9. Top the tarts with the fresh fruits and serve.
