Sourdough Baguette

Ingredients - Serves 2

Let's Get Started

  1. In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in the warm water. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Stir in the sourdough starter until well combined.
  3. Add the flour and salt to the bowl and mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until it is smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.
  6. Punch down the dough and divide it into two equal parts. Shape each part into a long, thin baguette.
  7. Place the baguettes on a baking sheet, cover them with a cloth, and let them rise again for about 1 hour.
  8. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C).
  9. Bake the baguettes for about 25 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
  10. Let the baguettes cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.
