Smoky Lentil Sloppy Joes
A hearty and healthy twist on the classic sloppy joe, this recipe uses lentils and a smoky tomato sauce.

- Whole grain buns - 4
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Maple syrup - 1 tablespoon
- Tomato sauce - 2 cups
- Brown lentils - 1 cup
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Smoked paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Red bell pepper - 1, finely chopped
- Carrot - 1, finely chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1, finely chopped
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
Let's Get Started
- Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
- Add the onion, garlic, carrot, and bell pepper. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in the smoked paprika and cumin.
