Sisig
Sisig is a popular Filipino dish made with chopped pig's face and ears, seasoned with calamansi juice, soy sauce, and spices.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped (for garnish)
- Cooking oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Red chili peppers - 2 pieces, minced
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Calamansi juice - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1 medium, minced
- Pork face and ears - 1 pound, boiled and chopped
Let's Get Started
- In a pan, heat the cooking oil over medium heat.
- Add the minced onion and garlic, and sauté until fragrant.
- Add the chopped pork face and ears, and cook until slightly crispy.
- Pour in the calamansi juice and soy sauce, and mix well.
- Add the minced red chili peppers, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Continue cooking for another 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
- Remove from heat and transfer the sisig to a serving plate.
- Drizzle with mayonnaise and garnish with chopped green onions.
- Serve hot as an appetizer or as a main dish with steamed rice.
