Sigara Boregi
Sigara Boregi is a popular Turkish appetizer or snack made with phyllo dough and filled with cheese.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Egg - 1, beaten
- Parsley - 1/4 cup, chopped
- Feta cheese - 1 cup, crumbled
- Phyllo dough - 12 sheets
Let's Get Started
- Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and cut it into four strips.
- Mix the feta cheese, parsley, and egg in a bowl.
- Place a spoonful of the cheese mixture at one end of each strip.
- Roll the strip up tightly, starting at the end with the cheese.
- Repeat with the remaining phyllo dough and cheese mixture.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the borek until golden brown on all sides, about 3 minutes per side.
- Drain on paper towels and serve warm.
