Makouda
Makouda are delicious Moroccan potato fritters. They are a popular street food and can also be served as a side dish or a snack.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Vegetable oil - For frying
- Flour - 1/2 cup
- Egg - 1
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Potatoes - 4 medium, peeled and quartered
Let's Get Started
- Boil the potatoes until they are soft, then drain and mash them.
- Add the garlic, parsley, cumin, salt, pepper, and egg to the mashed potatoes and mix well.
- Shape the potato mixture into small patties and coat them in the flour.
- Heat the oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the patties in the oil until they are golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- Drain the patties on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- Serve the makouda hot, with ketchup or your favorite dipping sauce.
