Sichuan Mapo Tofu

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic, ginger, and crushed Sichuan peppercorns. Stir-fry for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground pork and cook until browned, breaking it up into small pieces.
  4. Add the chili bean paste and stir-fry for another minute.
  5. Add the cubed tofu and gently stir to coat it with the sauce.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and soy sauce. Bring to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes.
  7. Stir in the dissolved cornstarch mixture to thicken the sauce.
  8. Season with salt to taste.
  9. Garnish with chopped green onions.
  10. Serve hot with steamed rice.
