Shredded Chicken Tacos
These flavorful shredded chicken tacos are made with tender chicken, spices, and topped with your favorite toppings.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Toppings (optional) - Salsa, guacamole, shredded cheese, sour cream, etc.
- Tortillas - 8, small
- Lime juice - 2 tablespoons
- Chicken broth - 1 cup
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1, diced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Taco seasoning - 2 tablespoons
- Chicken breasts - 2, boneless and skinless
Let's Get Started
- Season the chicken breasts with taco seasoning on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the chicken breasts and cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add chicken broth and lime juice to the skillet. Bring to a simmer.
- Return the chicken breasts to the skillet and cover with the broth mixture.
- Cover the skillet and cook for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and shred using two forks.
- Heat tortillas in a separate skillet or in the oven.
- Fill each tortilla with shredded chicken and your favorite toppings.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
