Let's Get Started

  1. Heat a pan over medium heat and add the sesame oil.
  2. Add the carrots and jicama and cook until they are soft, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the bean sprouts and shrimp and cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. Season with soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
  5. Lay a popiah skin on a flat surface and place a lettuce leaf in the center.
  6. Spoon some of the vegetable and shrimp mixture onto the lettuce.
  7. Fold the sides of the popiah skin over the filling, then roll it up tightly.
  8. Repeat with the remaining ingredients.
  9. Serve the popiah with soy sauce or a dipping sauce of your choice.
