Seared Ahi Tuna
This simple yet elegant dish features seared ahi tuna seasoned with sesame and served with a tangy ginger soy sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Green onions - 2, thinly sliced
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Fresh ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
- Soy sauce - 1/4 cup
- Sesame oil - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame seeds - 1/4 cup
- Ahi tuna steaks - 2 (6 ounce)
Let's Get Started
- Pat the ahi tuna steaks dry with a paper towel. Sprinkle the sesame seeds onto a plate and press the tuna steaks into the seeds to coat all sides.
- Heat the sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the tuna steaks and sear for 1-2 minutes on each side. Remove from the skillet and let rest.
- In the same skillet, add the soy sauce, ginger, and garlic. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Slice the seared tuna and serve with the ginger soy sauce. Garnish with green onions.
