  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and granulated sugar.
  2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg and then add the milk and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil. Fry in batches, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Remove the sata andagi from the oil and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.
  7. Repeat with the remaining batter.
  8. Dust the sata andagi with powdered sugar before serving.
