Let's Get Started

  1. Scoop the gelato into balls and place on a lined baking sheet. Freeze for at least 2 hours, or until very firm.
  2. Place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs in separate shallow dishes.
  3. Roll each gelato ball in the flour, then dip in the egg, and finally roll in the breadcrumbs. Place back on the baking sheet and freeze for another hour.
  4. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 375°F.
  5. Working in batches, fry the gelato balls for 8-10 seconds, until golden brown.
  6. Using a slotted spoon, remove the gelato balls from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
