  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, beat the eggs until fluffy. Gradually add the sugar and vanilla, beating until well combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the egg mixture, alternating with the milk.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  5. Immediately invert the cake onto a clean kitchen towel dusted with powdered sugar. Roll up the cake with the towel, starting at a short end. Let cool completely.
  6. Unroll the cake, spread with the custard filling, then re-roll. Dust with additional powdered sugar before serving.
