Salted Caramel Popcorn

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Pop the popcorn kernels using a popcorn maker or on the stovetop.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, butter, corn syrup, and salt. Bring to a boil while stirring consistently.
  4. Once the mixture is boiling, let it boil for 4 minutes without stirring.
  5. Remove the mixture from the heat and stir in the baking soda and vanilla extract.
  6. Immediately pour the caramel sauce over the popcorn. Use spoons to gently fold the caramel into the popcorn, making sure all of the popcorn is covered.
  7. Transfer the popcorn onto the lined baking sheet, spreading it out evenly.
  8. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes.
  9. Remove the caramel popcorn from the oven and sprinkle with sea salt. Let it cool before breaking it into pieces and serving.
