Roasted Duck Breast with Berry Sauce

Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Season the duck breasts with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the duck breasts skin side down in a cold, oven-safe skillet.
  4. Turn the heat to medium and cook for 6-7 minutes, until the skin is browned and crispy.
  5. Flip the duck breasts and transfer the skillet to the preheated oven. Roast for 6-8 minutes for medium-rare.
  6. While the duck is roasting, combine the berries, sugar, and balsamic vinegar in a saucepan over medium heat.
  7. Cook until the berries are soft and the sauce has reduced by half, about 10 minutes.
  8. Mix the cornstarch with a little water to make a slurry, then stir into the berry sauce. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened.
  9. Slice the roasted duck breasts and serve with the berry sauce.
