Ingredients - Serves 4

Let's Get Started

  1. Season the beef roast with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the roast and sear on all sides until browned.
  3. Add the onions, garlic, and beef broth to the pot. Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 4 hours, or until the beef is tender.
  4. Remove the roast from the pot and shred with two forks. Return the shredded beef to the pot and stir into the gravy.
  5. Slice the French bread in half lengthwise and spread with mayonnaise.
  6. Layer the shredded lettuce, sliced tomatoes, and pickles on the bottom half of the bread.
  7. Top with the shredded beef and gravy, then cover with the top half of the bread.
  8. Slice into individual sandwiches and serve.
