Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. In a saucepan, bring water and salt to a boil. Add the rice and cook over low heat, covered, for 15 minutes or until the rice is tender and the water is absorbed.
  2. In a separate saucepan, heat the milk, sugar, and vanilla extract over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
  3. Add the cooked rice to the milk mixture and stir well. Cook for an additional 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and let the rice pudding cool to room temperature.
  5. Once cooled, fold in the whipped cream and chopped almonds.
  6. Serve the Ris à la Mande chilled, topped with cherry sauce.
