Reinsdyrsteik is a traditional Norwegian dish, featuring succulent roast reindeer served with a rich game gravy, lingonberry sauce, and boiled potatoes.

- Bay leaves - 2
- Juniper berries - 1 tablespoon, crushed
- Water - 2 cups
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Reindeer roast - 1 kg
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
- Season the reindeer roast with salt and pepper.
- Heat the butter in a roasting pan and brown the roast on all sides.
- Add water, crushed juniper berries, and bay leaves to the pan.
- Cover and roast in the oven for about 2 hours, or until the meat is tender. Baste the roast occasionally during cooking.
- Remove the roast from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
- Serve the roast reindeer with lingonberry sauce and boiled potatoes.
