Red Lentil Patties with a Tahini Sauce

Ingredients - Serves 4
- Water - 2-3 tablespoons
- Lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
- Tahini - 1/4 cup
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Egg - 1
- Breadcrumbs - 1/2 cup
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Cumin - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
- Onion - 1, finely chopped
- Red lentils - 1 cup, dry
Let's Get Started
- Cook the red lentils according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooked lentils, chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, and egg. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into small patties.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the patties and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
- While the patties are cooking, make the tahini sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the tahini, lemon juice, and water until smooth.
