Pão de Queijo
Pão de Queijo is a popular snack and breakfast food in Brazil. These cheesy breads are crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside and incredibly delicious.
Ingredients - Serves 20
- Parmesan cheese - 1 1/2 cups, shredded
- Eggs - 2
- Tapioca flour - 2 cups
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - 1/2 cup
- Milk - 1 cup
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large saucepan, combine the milk, oil, and salt and bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, remove from heat immediately and add the tapioca flour. Stir until the mixture is smooth and the flour is completely incorporated.
- Let the mixture cool for a few minutes, then add the eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition.
- Add the cheese and mix until well combined.
- Using a spoon or an ice cream scoop, drop rounded, 1-inch balls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the breads are puffed and golden.
