Let's Get Started

  1. Rinse the soaked chickpeas and pressure cook them with enough water for 4-5 whistles or until they are soft.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add the chopped onions. Saute until they turn golden brown.
  3. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan and saute for a few more minutes.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes are soft.
  5. Add the chole masala to the pan and mix well.
  6. Add the cooked chickpeas to the pan and mix well. Add some water if necessary and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  7. Garnish with cilantro and serve hot with rice or naan.
