Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. In a large pot, add the pork shoulder, chopped onion, minced garlic, dried guajillo chilies, dried ancho chilies, cumin, Mexican oregano, and salt.
  2. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer for 2-3 hours, or until the pork is tender.
  3. Remove the chilies from the pot and blend them with a little bit of the cooking liquid until smooth. Return the chili paste to the pot.
  4. Add the drained and rinsed hominy to the pot and simmer for an additional 30 minutes.
  5. Serve the pozole hot, garnished with chopped cilantro, sliced radishes, shredded cabbage, lime wedges, and diced avocado.
