Ingredients - Serves 6

Let's Get Started

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream and minced garlic over medium heat until it starts to simmer. Remove from heat.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish. Season with salt, pepper, and half of the chopped thyme.
  4. Pour half of the heated cream mixture over the potatoes.
  5. Sprinkle half of the grated Gruyere and Parmesan cheese over the potatoes.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, cream mixture, cheese, and thyme.
  7. Drizzle the melted butter over the top layer of cheese.
  8. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  9. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the top is golden and bubbly.
  10. Let the potato gratin cool for a few minutes before serving.
