Portuguese Steak, or Bife a Portuguesa, is a traditional dish from Portugal, made with marinated steak and served with a delicious wine and garlic sauce.

- Piri piri sauce - To taste
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Bay leaves - 2
- White wine - 1 cup
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Steak - 4 pieces
Let's Get Started
- Season the steaks with salt, pepper, minced garlic, bay leaves, and white wine. Let it marinate for at least 2 hours.
- Heat the olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the steaks to the skillet and cook for about 4 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
- Remove the steaks from the skillet and set them aside.
- In the same skillet, add the marinade and cook for a few minutes until it reduces into a sauce.
- Serve the steaks with the sauce and a drizzle of piri piri sauce.
