Phat Kaphrao
Phat Kaphrao, also known as Thai Basil Stir-Fry, is a popular Thai dish made with minced meat, Thai basil, and a flavorful sauce.
Ingredients - Serves 2
- Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Oyster sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Fish sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Bird's eye chili - 2, finely chopped
- Garlic - 4 cloves, minced
- Thai basil leaves - 2 cups, loosely packed
- Ground meat (chicken, beef, or pork) - 250 grams
Let's Get Started
- Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat.
- Add minced garlic and chopped bird's eye chili. Stir-fry for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add ground meat and stir-fry until cooked through, breaking it up into small pieces.
- In a small bowl, mix together fish sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, and sugar.
- Pour the sauce mixture into the wok and stir-fry for another 2 minutes.
- Add Thai basil leaves and stir-fry until wilted.
- Remove from heat and serve hot with steamed rice.
- Optional: Garnish with additional fresh Thai basil leaves and sliced bird's eye chili.
