Panelada
Panelada is a traditional Brazilian dish made from the stomach lining of a cow, cooked until tender with various seasonings.
Ingredients - Serves 6
- Water - Enough to cover the ingredients
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Cilantro - 1 bunch, chopped
- Tomatoes - 2, chopped
- Bell pepper - 1, chopped
- Onion - 1 large, chopped
- Garlic - 5 cloves, minced
- Lime - 1, juiced
- Cow's stomach - 1 kg, cleaned and cut into pieces
Let's Get Started
- Clean the cow's stomach with the lime juice and rinse well.
- Place the cow's stomach in a large pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 2 hours.
- In a separate pan, sauté the garlic, onion, bell pepper, and tomatoes until soft.
- Add the sautéed vegetables to the pot with the cow's stomach.
- Add the cilantro, salt, and pepper, and simmer for another 30 minutes.
- Serve hot with rice or bread.
