Onion and Pepperoni Stromboli
This delicious stromboli is filled with sautéed onions, pepperoni, and melted cheese, all wrapped in a golden crust.
Ingredients - Serves 4
- Marinara sauce - For serving
- Salt and pepper - To taste
- Garlic powder - 1/2 teaspoon
- Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon
- Parmesan cheese - 1/4 cup, grated
- Mozzarella cheese - 1 cup, shredded
- Pepperoni - 1 cup, sliced
- Onion - 1 large, thinly sliced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Pizza dough - 1 pound
Let's Get Started
- Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onion and sauté until caramelized, about 10 minutes. Set aside.
- Roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
- Spread the caramelized onions evenly over the dough, leaving a border around the edges.
- Layer the sliced pepperoni over the onions.
- Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper over the pepperoni.
- Starting from one of the long sides, tightly roll up the dough into a log, sealing the edges.
- Place the stromboli on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before slicing.
- Serve with marinara sauce for dipping.
